Okehampton is a town in Devon, England, on the north of Dartmoor. Being Saxon in origin it originally grew on the medieval wool trade. It is located not far from Belstone, Exbourne, Inwardleigh, and Sampford Courtenay and is one over three hundred towns or villages in Devon in which Go2 has cottages or holidays lets available. The nearest designated cities are Exeter (population 106,772), Plymouth (population 243,795), and Truro (which has a population of 20,920 according to the 2001 Census).
With some interesting sights in the town and itself, and Dartmoor begging to be explored just to the south, a visit to Okehampton is highly recommended as a base for exploring this part of Devon's landscape.
